Sharing your learning

This workshop will focus on ways to disseminate research or professional learning from the classroom. It will draw on findings from a study of the way schools and teachers involved in Creative Partnerships activity share any learning gained from participation. The research involved talking to teachers about any ways that they had experienced learning being shared, and how effective they had been.

The workshop will describe the mechanisms that worked well for sharing learning and those that did not, and will seek to draw out the underlying characteristics of an effective sharing mechanism. The workshop will also discuss whether any mechanisms for sharing are particularly appropriate for certain kinds of learning.

The workshop should give participants an idea of the effective ways they can disseminate their research or professional learning to other teachers within their school, or in other schools.

research engaged schools
The contribution of research to school improvement has been a matter of considerable debate. It is widely argued that educational practice should be more evidence based, but it is acknowledged that this is not easy to achieve.
