This page will guide you through the important points of using the PRE Online website. Please read this carefully before making a purchase, and let us know if you have a problem.
Quick search box is located on the top right side of every PRE Online page. From this box you can search for article/page titles or author names. You can also select a different search method by click on 'select search method'. From here you can either find an article by Issue/publication dates or Advanced search. If you know the publication date of the article, or of the issue number, this option will help you to locate your article. Simply select the issue/date and you will get the list all the articles within those specifications. The advanced search will let you refine your search results by selecting various criteria - keywords, title, author, summary text, etc.
Briefcase
If you are not a subscriber, you can still purchase PRE articles. Simply click on ADD TO BRIEFCASE when you find the article you are looking for. If you accidentally select a wrong article, you can always remove it from your briefcase later.
Payment
You can pay for the articles online using all the major credit cards. After completing a short form, you will be redirected to a secure server to complete your payment. PRE Online will not keep the details of your credit card. Please make sure that you provide your current email address, as this will be used to email you all the articles you order.
Quick payment
After you complete the payment, you will be given a USERNAME and PASSWORD. You can use these next time you order PRE articles. Simply log in and follow the usual procedures. When you get to the order form, your details will be filled in automatically. This should let you complete the payment process much more quickly.
Subscribe to free articles £free
The feature article in each issue is available for free download direct to your email address. Articles reproduced from Spotlight and Insight are also free. Click here to subscribe to the free articles only.
Subscribe to online only account £19.50
The online-only subscription allows access to individual users, who are issued with usernames and passwords. Subscribers to the online-only option may browse through back issues and search for articles using keywords, authors' names, article titles or issue numbers. Subscribers may download articles for free direct into their email inbox.
Subscribe to full account £29.50
The standard subscription includes two issues of the paper copy of Practical Research for Education each year, together with a free subscription to the accompanying website, Practical Research for Education online. Practical Research for Education online is accessed via a username and password and allows users to search through back issues, join popular debate and download articles for free.
Subscribe to multi-user account £250
The multi-user subscription allows organisations access to the online journal for an unlimited number of users, who may be issued with usernames and passwords as necessary. Subscribers to the multi-user option also receive two complimentary copies of the printed journal. This is a popular method of access for university libraries and local education authorities.
